Requesting a Modification

A household may request a reasonable modification to Chez policies, practices, or procedures — or to the way a booking is arranged — when needed for equal access. Requests are routed to a human reviewer and are not denied by software. Chez does not require formal legal terminology. Statements such as "I need help completing this form," "I cannot use the time-limited booking screen," "I need all instructions in writing," or "I need my service animal present" are treated as access requests.

What Chez Does Not Require

A household is not required to disclose a diagnosis, provide medical records as a default condition, or justify the existence of a disability. Chez asks only for information reasonably needed to identify an effective modification.

Examples of Reasonable Modifications

• Alternative arrival instructions or additional setup time.
• Written rather than telephone communication.
• Simplified booking instructions or a save-and-return workflow.
• Modified service sequence or accessible menu format.
• Seated menu review.
• Service-animal positioning plan.
• Alternative equipment placement.
• Contact through an authorized companion.

What Chefs Are Not Asked to Perform

Chefs are not asked to provide medical care, personal care, mobility transfers, childcare, service-animal supervision, medication administration, or tasks outside the culinary service agreement.

Physical Access to the Home

Chez does not own or control household premises. Households are responsible for providing accurate information about the home. Chez does not certify a private residence as ADA compliant and does not represent that every private home is legally required to meet public-accommodation construction standards.

Privacy

Household accessibility information is restricted, not displayed publicly to chefs, and released only to the extent the assigned chef reasonably needs it to provide the approved service or modification.
