Chef Verification
Chefs invited to serve through Chez, LLC may be required to complete a combination of the following before their first booking:
- Identity verification
- Background screening
- Professional reference checks
- Food-safety certification verification
- Employment or culinary experience verification
- Tax and payment onboarding
- Insurance verification, where required
Verification requirements may vary by market, service type, and chef status. Chez, LLC does not represent that every chef has completed every check listed above.
Food Safety
Chefs serving through Chez, LLC are expected to observe professional food-safety practices throughout every service:
- Safe food handling from sourcing through service
- Temperature control for cold, hot, and hold points
- Cross-contamination prevention across surfaces, tools, and hands
- Sanitation of workspaces and equipment
- Allergen communication with the household before and during service
- Safe transport and storage of ingredients and leftovers
- Compliance with applicable federal, state, and local food laws
- Prompt incident reporting when something goes wrong
Allergies & Dietary Needs
Every household has the right to a chef who respects and understands their dietary needs. To make that possible:
- Households must disclose known allergies and dietary restrictions in advance
- Chefs are expected to review the information before service
- Chez, LLC cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment
- Cross-contact may still occur, particularly in a home kitchen
- High-risk allergy situations should be discussed directly with the chef
- Emergency medication remains the household's responsibility
- Chefs should not provide medical advice
In-Home Safety
Households and chefs each play a role in keeping the evening safe. Expectations include:
- Supervision of children during service
- Reasonable management of pets in and around the kitchen
- Kitchen access to functional appliances, water, and lighting
- Safe walkways, free of tripping hazards
- Attention to fire hazards, open flame, and hot surfaces
- Firearms secured and out of the workspace
- No smoking in the working kitchen
- No illegal substances present during service
- No harassment of any person in the home
- Prompt disclosure of unsanitary or unsafe conditions
- Household emergency contacts made available on request
Privacy in the Home
A chef's work is close, quiet, and confidential. In every home, chefs are expected to:
- Respect the privacy of the household and its members
- Never photograph or record without explicit permission
- Never share addresses or identifying household details
- Handle personal preferences with discretion
- Stay within the kitchen and agreed-upon service areas
- Bring no unauthorized guests into the home
Chef Safety
Chez, LLC protects the chefs who serve as much as the households they serve. Every chef is entitled to:
- The right to leave a home that is unsafe
- Freedom from harassment of any kind
- Accurate disclosures from the household
- A workable, sanitary kitchen environment
- A path to report inappropriate conduct in confidence
- Protection from retaliation for good-faith safety reports
Secure Payments
Payments are processed through established third-party payment providers. Chez, LLC does not directly store full payment card numbers on its own systems.
Reporting a Concern
If something is wrong, tell us. Chez, LLC reviews every report submitted in good faith.
- Safety concerns
- Food-related incidents
- Privacy concerns
- Property damage
- Harassment or discrimination
- Suspected fraud
For emergencies, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service first.
Civil Disputes
Trust and safety investigations are administrative. Any related civil or contractual dispute is governed by the dispute-resolution provisions of the applicable Chez, LLC agreement.
